GENERAL INFORMATION
Welcome to our Main Event ~ Universal International
Northwest Regional Showcase to be held in the Rose City itself
Portland, Oregon! Our host hotel is the
Shilo Inn at the Portland Airport. This beautiful and pleasant hotel
features an indoor pool and on site restaurant,
free breakfast and every room is a suite! Its just minutes
to the Portland Airport (PDX) and a complimentary shuttle is
available upon request. Please remember that every year its a new
pageant with a new set of judges. It does not matter how you may
have previously placed at the preliminary, state level, mini
national or national level!
Last year at the Universal Miss and Master pageant we welcomed
our sister pageant Universal Faces held the same weekend as
Universal Miss and Master. It was a real joy to expand in this new
direction! If you didnt give Universal Faces a try last year
perhaps you can consider it this year! Please be sure to check out
the paperwork for both pageants along with special discounts

AGE DIVISIONS
Boys: Determined by
entries. Girls: 0-18mo. / 19-35 mo. / 3-4yrs / 5-6 yrs / 7-8 yrs /
9-10 yrs / 11-12 yrs / 13-15 yrs / 16 & up / (Ms/ 20 & up will be
added with 3 or more in the group. Contestants shall compete their
age as of December 1, 2005)
OVERALL
GRAND SUPREME
Contestant with the
highest combined score in Beauty, ONE Photo event, ONE Contestants
Choice event and ONE Talent/Costume event. The Overall Grand
Supreme will win this title, plus $1,000 CASH, A Beautiful Crown,
Trophy, Two Tone Satin Monogrammed Sash,
and Gifts. Top 5 for Overall
Grand Supreme will receive a special award.
GRAND
SUPREME
Ages 0-4, 5-10 and 11-up.
Contestants with
the highest combined score in Beauty and ONE Talent/Costume event.
The Grand Supremes will win this title, plus $500 CASH, A
Beautiful Crown, Trophy, Two Tone Satin Monogrammed Sash, Velvet
Robe, and Gifts.
ULTIMATE
SUPREME
Ages 0-4, 5-10 and 11-up.
Contestants with
the highest combined score in Beauty, ONE Contestants Choice Event
and ONE Photo Event. The Ultimate Supremes will win this title,
plus $300 CASH, A Beautiful Crown, Trophy, Two Tone Satin
Monogrammed Sash and Gifts.
BEAUTY
SUPREME
Ages 0-4, 5-10 and 11-up.
Contestants with
the highest score in Beauty. The Beauty Supremes will each win
this title, plus $200 CASH, A Beautiful Crown, Trophy, Two Tone
Satin Monogrammed Sash and Gifts.
SUPREME PRINCESS
Ages 0-6 and 7+-up.
Contestant with the
highest combined score of two talents, or two
contestants choice, or two photo events. Winners will each win this
title, plus $100 CASH, A Beautiful Crown, Trophy, Two Tone Satin
Monogrammed Sash and Gifts.
NOVICE SUPREME
Ages 0-6 and 7+-up.
These are the
contestants with the highest score in Formal Wear and Straight T
ONLY. The Novice Supremes will each win this title, $100 CASH, A
Beautiful Crown, Trophy, Two Tone Satin Monogrammed Sash and
Gifts. To qualify for this title you can not have won more than
$500 for one title in the last 3 years.
OVERALL
MOST BEAUTIFUL
Ages 0-6 and 7+-up.
Contestant with the
highest combined score in Facial Beauty judged during interview.
The Overall Most Beautiful winners will win this title, $100 CASH,
A Beautiful Crown, Trophy, Two Tone Satin Monogrammed Sash and
Gifts.
AGE
DIVISION SUPREME
This will be the
contestant with the highest combined score in Beauty, and 1
optional (Photogenic / Print / Composite / Contestants Choice /
Talent) in each age division. The Divisional Supremes will win
this title, plus a Beautiful Crown, Trophy, Two Tone Satin
Monogrammed Sash and Gifts. If a contestant enters more than one
optional, the highest scoring optional will be used.
AGE DIVISION BEAUTY
Contestant with the
highest score in Beauty. There will be one Divisional Beauty
winner crowned per age group. The Divisional Beauty winner will
win this title, plus Beauty fee paid to the 2006 International
Finals, A Beautiful Crown/Tiara, Trophy, Two Tone Satin
Monogrammed Sash and Gifts. * FOUR
Alternates in each age division will receive a sash, tiara and
trophy.
ALL
CONTESTANTS
ALL CONTESTANTS
will receive an award on stage and will receive their beauty fee
paid to the 2006 International Finals.

One winner in each event in each age group.

receive jackpot cash equal to $5 times the number of entries in
their division. These events may double crown.

One winner in each event in each age group.
Winners will
receive a special award. This event may double crown.
EVENTS:
BEAUTY
Beauty will consist of the following competitions:
Interview/Close-up Appraisal
~ All contestants must wear an official NW UMMI T-shirt with white
shorts, skirts or pants. Hair ribbons are allowed however no
other form of decoration is allowed on any other part of the
attire. Minimal, age appropriate make up for all ages, plus
softer hairstyles. No False Eyelashes, hair pieces or flippers
allowed. The time limit is 3 minutes. Contestants are scored on
facial beauty, poise and overall appearance.
Straight T Casual Wear
~ Non-glitz (no rhinestones, sequins, mirrors, beads or other
glitzy type trims). Tailored or Off the Rack. Upbeat modeling or
Miss America style with no shimmies, no spins, ProAm moves, extra
hand movements or removal of clothing STRAIGHT T modeling style
ONLY. You will be judged on stage presence/personality, modeling
ability, overall appearance and confidence. The time limit is 2
1/2 minutes.
Formal Wear
~ Male contestants should wear a nice suit or tux. Female
contestants should wear a short or long dress any color or style.
Make-up is allowed for all ages. The time limit is 2
1/2 minutes. You will be judged on natural beauty,
overall appearance and confidence/eye contact. This is straight
modeling, step turns or circle turns only, no fancy modeling.
CONTESTANTS CHOICE
This is free style modeling, outfit of choice. Western wear,
vogue, proam, swimwear, casual wear and dance modeling are all
acceptable.
Time limit is 2
1/2 minutes. You will be judged on stage
presence/personality, modeling ability, overall appearance and
confidence. This is an OPTIONAL event. Max 3 entries per
contestant.
PHOTOGENIC/PRINT MODEL
Photogenic must be a 5x7, 8x10 or 9x11 headshot. Additional
photos may be entered at the door or on your entry form. This will
be judged on facial beauty, photogenic appeal & quality/clarity.
Photos must be in clear sheet protectors with 3 holes. Photos must
be labeled with name and Photo A, B, C, etc. We will have TWO
photogenic categories digital and non-digital. You must specify
photogenic type at registration. Print model entries may either be
a portfolio or composite. Portfolios are a collection of 5-15
photos of your choice. Composites are a collection of photos
printed on one sheet. Photos/Portfolios/Composites must be
submitted during registration. If you enter more than one of these
events your highest will be used for those titles for which a
photo score it is required. These are OPTIONAL events.
TALENT/COSTUME
Talent time limit
is 3 minutes. All Talent/Costume tapes must be cued. You will be
judged on ability, showmanship, stage presentation and technique.
Costume is only available to contestants 0-4 years. This is an
OPTIONAL event. Max 3 entries per contestant.
COVER MODEL / CENTERFOLD MODEL
Winner will receive
CASH equal to $5 times the number of photos entered. Photos are
due 21days prior to pageant.
Submit an 8x10 photo in black & white or color.
Cover photo must be a headshot. Centerfold photo must be a Ύ to
full body photo. This event may double crown.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
Good Sportsmanship is a MUST at all times! Each
contestant will receive a tiara, banner and gift as no one
goes home empty handed. JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL. We reserve
the right to combine/divide age divisions if necessary. NO
REFUNDS! WE WILL NOT DOUBLE CROWN, with the exception of those
listed above. Cash will be distributed 50% on stage and 50%
upon registration into the 2006 International finals. You must
enter the international finals by sending your deposit and
entry form to the International Finals by the posted and
published deadline to receive the second half of the cash
award. Score sheets will be given following crowning. Cash
is based on 50 pkg E or higher entries (not incl sibling
packages) and we reserve the right to prorate with fewer
contestants. Should prorating be necessary, the prorated
amount will be equal to or greater than the proportional
number of contestants present. We reserve the right to add
Supreme titles not listed on this paperwork. The Overall Grand
Supreme and Grand Supreme winners are not eligible to compete
in the 2007 UMMI Northwest Pageant. |

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Host Hotel:
Our host hotel is the Holiday Inn, Portland Airport. We have
reserved a block of standard rooms at a group rate. If you
choose to stay at the hotel, please remember to state you are
with Universal Miss to receive this discounted rate. Rooms
must be reserved by Feb 15, 2006. Parents must be responsible
for their children. Any reports from the hotel of disorderly
conduct or vandalism will result in the contestant being
disqualified without a refund. Please do NOT allow your
children to wander the halls unsupervised. Please keep
movement between rooms to a minimum after 9pm.
Program Book Ads:
Contact the director for price information.
Ads must be camera
ready and paid for and received by February 15, 2006. Your
discount will be taken at the door. In addition, contestant
will receive a 1 trophy for selling one ad page, 2 trophy
for selling 2 ad pages, 3 trophy for selling 3 ad pages, 4
trophy for selling 4 ad pages, 5 trophy for selling 5 ad
pages or a 6 trophy for selling 6 or more ad pages. If a
contestant sells more than 6 pages of ads they will be
eligible for the Overall Ambassador title which will be
awarded to the contestant who sells the most ad pages. The
Overall Ambassador will win this title, plus Beauty fee paid
to the 2006 International Finals, A Beautiful Crown and a
Satin Monogrammed Sash. This award may be double crowned.
Roster Photos:
Each contestant must send any size photo in B&W or color by
March 1, 2006. These will be used in the program book.
Photos will be returned at registration. Photos will also be
accepted via email. Please email photos in .jpg format to
nwuniversal@comcast.net.
Gifts:
Each contestant is required to bring 4 wrapped gifts. Each
gift should be approximately $10 in value. One for outgoing
Grand Supreme Brooke Eddy, One for a girl 3-6 years of age,
One for a girl 7-12 years of age and One for a girl 13+ years
in age.
Schedule:
A tentative schedule is included with the paperwork. The
schedule will be adjusted as required and posted on the web
site and you will receive a copy 2 weeks prior to the pageant.
PLEASE BE ON TIME. You must be ready for line up at the posted
time. Awards Dinner: An awards dinner is planned for Saturday
night.
Crowning:
Attire for crowning is the same as interview. Please see
above.
